10 Good Reasons to be (or become) an SBSE Member

  1. SBSE provides access to an international Network of educators, professionals, and those in related disciplines who support excellence in the teaching of environmental science and building technologies.
  2. SBSE operates and maintains the SBSE List server where members (and friends) provide perspectives, assistance, and answers to all your questions
  3. SBSE organizes  Annual Retreats and Tool Days to exchange and share ideas.
  4. SBSE publishes a Newsletter  4 times a year with reviews of past and upcoming events, interesting and at times thought-provoking opinion pieces, as well as latest news from the network - all edited by Bruce Haglund who always has his finger on the environmental pulse (the newsletter alone is worth to support SBSE through your dues!)
  5. SBSE offers SBSE Peer Review Services for promotion and tenure dossiers coordinated by the current president (Ulrike Passe).
  6. SBSE provides mentoring and Scholarship Opportunities for students interested in teaching.
  7. SBSE provides access to Curriculum Resources such as sun angle calculators, links to course websites, and many individual educational resources through the new Education Portal.
  8. Opportunities to meet and collaborate with faculty nationally and internationally.
  9. Countless opportunities to volunteer on worthwhile projects that help make our organization outstanding in every way.
  10. Lots of personal attention (it might be called haranguing) by the officers to become involved with SBSE activities.
