Cold Climate HVAC 2018

Mon, Mar 12 - Thu, Mar 15
Kiruna – Sweden

The 9th International Cold Climate Conference
Sustainable new and renovated buildings in cold climates

This is the first time for Cold Climate HVAC to be held in Sweden, Kiruna, north of the Arctic Circle, and it is the most northern Cold Climate HVAC conference ever. In Kiruna there will be extensive new development during the coming decade to form one of the most sustainable Arctic cities in the world, due to the fact that the ore mining leads to a need for evacuating existing buildings. There will be 650 000 m² of new development, 4000, or 1/3, of Kiruna’s dwellings will be replaced, there will be a new city hall and a new city centre under construction. Results from several unique research projects will be established and there will be ongoing research projects.

The conference covers technical, economic and social aspects of buildings and HVAC systems in new and renovated buildings. The conference program will include:

  • Scientific papers and presentations based on a review process in two different tracks
  • Principles and theoretical research
  • Practical Applications and Case studies
  • Keynote presentations
  • Exhibitions to show products and systems
  • Study visits to show practical solutions
