WHERE
TO STAY
Option I: For SBSEers
traveling without friends or family.
WIT has 10 double (twin
beds) rooms and 10 single rooms available on a first-come,
first-served basis. The rooms are reasonably priced at £49
for singles and £59 (£29.50 each) for doubles. Self-catering
breakfasts (WIT provides the food, you prepare it) are included and the lodges have nice common rooms and full
kitchens. If you want a double, arrange for a roommate before
you book. Book directly with Pam Hodgson <phodgson@wessex.ac.uk>
and mention SBSE when you do.

Option II: For SBSEers traveling with family and
friends OR unable or unwilling to stay at WIT. You can
find lodging near WIT (look for Lyndhurst or Brockenhurst) at http://www.ukwebstart.com/listaccommnewforest.html
especially Forest
Cottage and The
Stag Hotel.
Lyndhurst is a brisk
walk away or a £5 cab ride from Ashurst; while Brockenhurst
is the next train stop down the line from Ashurst New Forest.
Train service is hourly.
See
maps.
Option III:
Those who want a total New Forest experience may book a
campsite at the adjacent campground. See
www.forestholidays.co.uk/caravanandcamping/sites/ashurst.asp.
