Jeffrey Cook Student Travel Award to PLEA

In honor of the late Jeffrey Cook, a $1,000 travel scholarship will be awarded to support a student presenting a paper at the 2009 PLEA Conference in Québec City, Canada. Eligible applicants are required to have a paper accepted for publication and present the work at the PLEA Conference.

Travel Scholarship Applications

Applications should address the following issues, which constitute our selection criteria. There is not a formal application that needs to be "filled out." Please submit 1 page, MAXIMUM!

a.

Contact information: name, institution, home address, home phone, e-mail address.

b.

Educational background: current, prior institutions and degrees

c.

PLEA Session at which paper will be presented date and time- if known.

d.

Personal statement: your role and specific participation in the research project and writing of the paper; the experience you will gain by attending PLEA.

e.

Full paper as submitted for publication in the PLEA proceedings. (attach as PDF)

At the request of the Jeffrey Cook Charitable Trust, the scholarship recipient will need to submit a modest note to the Trust after attendance at the PLEA Conference that explains their future professional plans and what the scholarship meant to them.
